Practice Your Part — from Any Sheet Music

Upload your band, orchestra or choir part and practice smarter: hear exactly how it goes with the score highlighting along, slow the hard passages down without the pitch dropping, and loop the two bars that keep tripping you up.

Practice like the pros: hear it, slow it, loop it

Every practice method book says the same thing: listen first, then drill slowly, then speed up. MelodyWiz turns the part on your music stand into exactly that workflow. Upload the PDF (or snap a photo — we auto-straighten it), and in about a minute your part is playing in the browser with the notation highlighted in time. Drop the tempo to 70% for the hard runs — the pitch stays put, so you can play along in tune. Set an A-B loop around the passage that keeps falling apart and let it cycle while you woodshed.

Practicing an ensemble piece? Multi-part scores get a mixer: solo your line to learn it, then mute it and play against the rest. Heard a note that doesn't match the page? Our recognition isn't perfect — click the wrong note in the preview and fix it in seconds, free. When you want tracks for the practice room, the Rehearsal Pack downloads MP3s including 85% and 70% slow mixes.

If you've been searching for a sheet music player online, an app to slow down sheet music without detuning it, or a free way to play sheet music online from a PDF — this page is that tool. It works for band parts, orchestra parts, choir octavos and piano pieces alike.

Frequently asked questions

Does slowing down change the pitch?
No — tempo changes are pitch-preserving, so you can play or sing along in tune at any speed from 50% to 100%.
Can I loop just a few measures?
Yes — hit Set A at the start of the passage and Set B at the end while it plays; playback cycles that section until you clear the loop.
What if the recognition gets a note wrong?
Click the note in the preview, choose sharp/flat/octave/delete, and the score and audio re-render in about half a minute. Fixes are free.
Does it work for any instrument?
Any part in standard staff notation — band, orchestra, choir, piano. Transposing parts play as written, so what you hear matches what you'd play.
Is it legal to upload sheet music I bought?
Yes. You're processing your own licensed copy for private practice — the same as photocopying it for your stand or playing it into a keyboard. Your files are processed privately, never shared, hosted publicly, or used for anything but your job, and they're cleaned up after a short period. What stays within your license is up to you — MelodyWiz never distributes your music.
Is it free?
Converting and previewing are free — 5 jobs a day, files up to 40 MB, no account. You can play the result in the browser, follow the highlighted score, and solo each part. Credits ($9 for 20, $19 for 50) unlock downloads: 10 credits for a piece's MusicXML + MIDI, 20 for the full Rehearsal Pack with per-part practice MP3s and slow mixes.
What happens to my files?
Uploads are used only to run your job and stored briefly so you can download results. We don't share them or train on them. See our privacy policy.
